The Annual Service of Remembrance & Wreath Laying Ceremony 2023

Monday 4 September 2023

The flagship event for the Trust will take place at the National Memorial Arboretum, Alrewas, Staffordshire on Monday 4th September 2023.

Everyone is welcome, however, please contact admin@firefightersmemorial.org.uk if you intend to join us so that we can arrange the necessary security access and catering.

All guests are invited to arrive from 1100 hrs and to be seated in the Aspects building which is a short walk from the main reception by 1145 hrs at the latest.

A short service will take place after which guests will process to the Firefighters Memorial Garden for the wreath laying part of the service. Note: The Trust is unable to provide wreaths for you unfortunately. There are, however, local florists who will be able to assist you.

Following the wreath laying, guests are invited back to the Aspects building.

After a brief 'thank you' provided by the Chairman of the Trust Mr Colin Livett BEM, refreshments will be provided.

The event will formally conclude at 1500hrs at the latest.

 

*** Guests are advised that there are significant road works on the A38 near Alrewas that will affect travel times. National Highways has been carrying out resurfacing and improvements to safety barriers along the A38 between Fradley and Barton-under-Needwood. The third phase between Alrewas and Wychnor sees one lane of the northbound carriageway closed along with the Rykneld Street and Burton Road service roads. Safety work will also be completed between Hilliard’s Cross and Catholme ***
