The Fire Service Chapel

The Fire Service Chapel was originally dedicated by the Bishop of Gloucester, the Right Reverend. John Yeats MA, at a service within the Chapel on the 15th September 1988. The Chapel contains our Books of Remembrance, the pages of which are turned daily to display the names contained therein, by date.

In June 2006 our Patron, HRH The Princess Royal unveiled a plaque, within Chapel, dedicated to the memory of the late Lady ‘Betty’ Cuthbert, the Chief Women Fire Officer appointed to be responsible for all Firewomen serving with the National Fire Service, (NFS), during World War 2.
